Lovers of the evening clutch, gals in need of a back massage, rejoice - losing the strap and handles and hugging your handbag is the all the rage at Fashion Week this season.

Victoria Beckham, Blugirl and Balenciaga are just a few of the folks who sent models down the runway clutching their handbag at their hip. The look is no doubt partially inspired by the new money shot on the street style scene: a must-have handbag, a crazy manicure and a big ol’ stack of bracelets, Getting all that eye candy in one shot means losing the strap and clutching your purse like it’s about to get nabbed off your body. Oh, and Prada sent bag-hugging models down the runway last season too.
